ABOUT THE PHOTO SERIES

The photo series is called the "The Some of the Some of Us." In this photo documentary series, I explore the notion of race and ethnic diversity in America. Incorporating in-depth interviews and DNA analysis to explore our rich genetic and ethnic heritage.

All humans share the need for love, safety, and the need for self-determination. It is my hope that by sharing others' stories and showing the many facets of ethnic diversity that we can begin to see our commonalities. By creating a customized photographic experience based on our research, it forces the subject to see themselves through the eyes of their ancestors, who may be different from the family stories. The process strips them away for their day to day views and places them in an undiscovered land connecting the past to the present. Bringing their stories and DNA results to life and capturing these moments in a series of photographs.
